| Neutrons being a heavy particle can deal massive damage when moving at high speeds. That's exactly what this weapon does. It takes neutron particles and accelerates them at a target at near light speed velocity. These particles collide with the target imparting their force and shearing through large molecules. A Neutron Cannon under the right circumstances can penetrate virtually anything. Energy shields slow down the neutrons allowing armor to fair better than it normally would. The pulse referred to in this weapon description is a quick opening and closing of the firing aperture of the weapon.
