| A short pulse of Ion Particles focused through a super conductor generates a tightly focused bolt of fast moving Ions. When fired they will travel in a strait line until they collide with an oppositely charged energy field. The Ions will then begin to bond with the energy field and impart their inertia onto the energy field to force the energy field backwards. After an Ion blast deals damage to an energy shield there is a 15% chance the shields will collapse for the next turn this effect is cumulative up to 60%. This collapse is called shield buckling and is the result of the energy shield being pushed into the hull of the ship. This weapon is primarily used by the Vree. |
