| The Death Ray is the colloquial name given to a first one energy weapon. Though its not explicitly stated this weapon is high energy particle beam. The beam width appears to be about 50 meters wide while its glow radius is much wider. Its most likely a stream of subatomic particles such as quarks launched at the high end of sub-light speed. These sub-atomic particles collide with free atomic particles and break them apart causing the radiant glow seen around the beam. When they collide with a substantial target, one which is larger than a small particle the quarks would spread out causing a fusion effect on the target. This increased explosion quickly dissipates the beam and generally reduces the object targeted to the smallest portion of common mater possible. All of the first ones have this technology. |
