Story Data: An aging Starfighter inexpensive, simple, and common through out the galaxy with a variety of modifications. Everyone from Rebels to Pirats, even the Empire and planetary defence forces are known to employ one of these vehicles at one time or another. While some have never been equipped with a hyperdrive, other have not only been equipped with such, but also given sublight speed modifications enabling speeds upwards of 100 MGLT. To give an example of how many of these fighters were produced some Imperial statisticians state that the Z-95 outnumbers every other known fighter currently in service. The designers of the x-wing adopted many design elements from the Z-95 due to the fighters great success across the Galaxy, making it a well known fighter maintenance wise, and enhancement wise.
