| Story Data: Based on the Original TIE Advanced Prototype, this model features an elongated rear deck and solar array wings. Produced initially in modest number the TIE Advanced X-1 had been deployed to a number of Imperial Fleets by the battle of Hoth. The first TIE fighter capable of hyperspace travel, and equipped with a shield generator, a great departure from the norms of TIE design. Lord Darth Vader was one of the first people to possess this enhanced fighter, flying it himself personally against Luke Skywalker during the battle fo Yavin. Its superior armour, and shielding came at a cost of weight slowing this fighter down to being just slightly faster then the standard TIE, many of its design elements were laste rused for the TIE Interceptor and future TIE Advanced models, such as the TIE Avenger. | ||
