Story Data: Similar to the MC-80, the primary difference between the MC-80, 80A, and 80B is the fighter compliment sizes. These cruisers were the only known non-Imperial ships that could defeat an Imperial Class Star Destroyer. THese ships equated against the superior armour of the Imperial Star Destroyers through their multiple shield generators. This was also considered extremely offensive due to the fact these ships are modified pleasure craft. Another thought is only the most professional and experienced of Imperial sensor technicians and commanders are known to be able to discern the difference between the three different ships in the MC-80 series.
